There is no doubt that the beautiful beach is the town’s great attraction, but there are excellent options to spice up the beach trip with fun communal activities or a good meal.
The centre of activity in the town is Trekanten (The Triangle), the small square where you will find places to eat, ice cream parlours, a grocery store and access to the beach. It is also where you park the car when you arrive.

Saksild Beach
Saksild Beach is at the heart of the area's holiday atmosphere and one of East Jutland's most popular beaches. Saksild – the old village behind the coast
Did you know that Saksild and Saksild Beach are actually two separate areas? While Saksild Beach has developed into a popular seaside holiday destination, the original village of Saksild lies approximately 1.5 kilometres inland. Here, the atmosphere is quite different, with a small village community, a church, a school, local shops and delicious food experiences.
It is just a short detour from the beach, but a lovely opportunity to discover a different side of Saksild.
Rude Beach – a quieter seaside escape
Just north of Saksild lies Rude Beach, where holiday life moves at a slightly slower pace. Here, you will find a charming holiday cottage area and a lovely sandy beach, perfect for swimming, playing on the sand and taking long walks along the shore.
Rude Beach is a great alternative to the livelier Saksild Beach if you prefer fewer crowds and a little more space to yourself. There are fewer shops and places to eat right by the beach, but instead, you can soak up the relaxed atmosphere and enjoy the views across the Kattegat Sea. And if you fancy an ice cream or a little more activity, Saksild is just a short distance away.

Is everything within walking distance in Saksild?
Saksild Beach is a relatively small and compact holiday destination. Restaurants, cafés and shops are gathered around Trekanten, where you will also find parking for Saksild Beach. From here, it is just a hundred metres to the beach. The holiday cottage area is also located right next to Trekanten.
The village of Saksild and the seaside resort of Saksild Beach are two separate places. The village lies 1.5 kilometres inland, so if you want to visit the shops there, be prepared for a short journey along the country road.
Is there free parking by Saksild Beach?
Yes, there is a large, free car park at Trekanten by Saksild Beach, approximately 50 metres from the shore. On warm summer days, the beach can get busy, so arriving early is a good idea. Please pay attention to the local parking signs.
Can I charge my electric car at Saksild Beach?
Yes, there are Ewii electric vehicle charging points at Trekanten, at Kystvejen 6 near Strandshoppen. Both standard and rapid charging are available.
Are there public toilets at Saksild Beach?
Yes, there are free public toilets at Saksild Beach, located at Kystvejen 10, next to the path leading from Trekanten down to the beach. Here, you will also find an accessible toilet, which is open all year round. The other toilets are open seasonally from 1 May until the end of week 42. Shower facilities are also available.
There are additional public toilets a little further south, near Chr. Petersens Vej, also close to the paths leading down to the beach.
Can you get to Saksild by public transport?
Yes, bus 302 runs between Odder and Saksild Beach, with some services continuing all the way to Aarhus. The bus stops at Saksild Strand/Samsøvej, among other stops, just a short walk from the beach.
From Aarhus, you can also take the light rail to Odder and change to bus 302. From Horsens, take bus 306 to Odder and continue on bus 302.

Is Saksild accessible for wheelchair users and people with limited mobility?
Yes, Saksild Beach is generally accessible for wheelchair users and people with limited mobility. There is parking approximately 100 metres from the beach on a level gravel surface. From here, a paved path leads down to the beach.
Beach access mats make it possible to reach the water and travel a short distance along the shoreline. Access to the shops at Trekanten is generally good, and there is an accessible toilet that is open all year round. However, accessibility may vary between individual shops and places to eat.
In the holiday cottage area and along smaller roads and paths, accessibility conditions may also vary.
