Suggestions for walks in Juelsminde

A short walk that takes you past the highlights of the town is a circular route along the main shopping street, Odelsgade, and around the harbour promenade. This way, you will pass both the town’s shops and the cafés, restaurants and activities by the marina. From the harbour, you can also add a short detour to Storstranden Beach. This walk is approximately 1.5 kilometres long.

For a slightly longer walk by the water, it is recommended to follow Storstranden Beach out to Bjørnsknude. From here, you can enjoy lovely views over the Kattegat and Vejle Fjord. The walk to the tip is around 2 kilometres—plus the return journey, of course.

The Coastal Trail Snaptun–Juelsminde is a 22.5-kilometre route that follows the coastline between the two towns. The route starts and ends at the harbour in Juelsminde.

Which beach should I visit in Juelsminde?

Juelsminde is surrounded by coastline on three sides, offering several lovely beaches to choose from.

Storstranden Beach is the most popular and has the best facilities. It is centrally located next to the marina and features a lifeguard tower during the summer season.

Sandbjerg Vig Beach is situated on the northern edge of town. It is less busy but still offers good facilities, including an ice cream kiosk and toilet facilities.

Strandhuse Beach lies along the southern coast of the town. It is a pleasant beach and well worth a visit, depending on the wind direction. There are toilet facilities and parking available on Sønderstrand. The southern coastline differs from the others, and a walk along the beach is highly recommended. However, staying on the beach is only permitted in the area near the car park, as the rest of the beach is privately owned.
