Holiday homes in Kystlandet

Saksild Beach, with its clear water, white sand and wide stretch of beach, is often mentioned among the best beaches in Denmark. From the lifeguard tower, lifeguards keep a close eye on children and other beachgoers. Saksild is a holiday town in miniature, where the selection of places to eat and shops is strongly shaped by tourism. At the same time, it is small enough to retain a peaceful atmosphere. Here, you can enjoy a good ice cream, have a pizza, play mini golf, or hire bicycles and SUP boards. There is no supermarket in Saksild, so it is a good idea to shop in Odder, the main town on the Odder Coast, just 7 kilometres away.

Extending on from Saksild Beach, Rude Beach offers a slightly more peaceful alternative, with a beach just as lovely as Saksild.

Juelsminde is the ultimate holiday town on the East Coast. Its population of around 4,000 multiplies during the summer season, and visitors flock to the popular marina as soon as the weather is good. The town is surrounded by beaches on three sides, and at Storstranden you will find a lifeguard tower. There is a good selection of shops, ice cream kiosks, waterfront eateries and family-friendly activities. For families, the large Juelsminde Nature Playground is highly recommended.

Juelsminde is an excellent choice if you want everything close at hand and enjoy having a lively atmosphere around you.

The beautiful bay of As Vig offers a quieter option for your holiday home stay. Here, you will find little more than beaches, holiday homes and a small local grocery shop. Within the bay, you will find the beaches Kirkholm, As Vig and Sønderby, with As Vig Beach being the most central choice. The bay is wonderfully peaceful, yet both Juelsminde and Horsens are only a short drive away, and the lovely Palsgaard Castle Park is also close by.

South of Aarhus lies the small harbour of Norsminde, located at the entrance to Norsminde Fjord. Norsminde has a cosy maritime atmosphere, and the area is a popular excursion destination during the summer season. There are a couple of noteworthy places to eat by the harbour – a popular fish house and the old inn, which has been welcoming guests for more than 300 years.The holiday homes are peacefully situated at Kysing Næs, where you will find a perfectly pleasant beach. There are no grocery shopping facilities in Norsminde, but in nearby Odder you will find everything you need.

Pøt Strandby is a larger holiday home area set apart on the Juelsminde Peninsula. As you move around the area, you get a sense of being in the middle of nowhere. Small stretches of beach appear like pockets in the landscape, and you are surrounded by forest and nature with excellent opportunities for walking. There is nothing commercial here – and that is exactly its strength. At the same time, shops and activities are only a couple of kilometres away.

Dyngby is located in the heart of the Odder Coast, between Saksild Beach and the ferry town of Hou. Like Pøt Strandby, Dyngby is wonderfully peaceful. As there is no public parking, there are very few visiting beachgoers, meaning you will mostly share the beautiful beach with fellow holiday home guests. Dyngby is an excellent choice if you are looking for peace and quiet. There is nothing commercial here, yet Saksild and Hou are only a few kilometres away.
