With a population of 14,000, Odder is far from a big city. And with larger cities such as Aarhus and Horsens nearby, you might easily think of it as a suburb – but that could not be further from the truth.
Odder is a highly independent town where locals can find everything they need close at hand – and the same goes for you as a visitor. The town has a vibrant shopping scene centred around the cosy pedestrian street, Rosensgade. Here, you will find both well-known high street brands and charming speciality shops. And when you need a break, there are plenty of great places in the town centre to enjoy a meal or a refreshing cold drink. It is a lively town centre that can easily rival those of much larger cities.
There are more than 1,000 free parking spaces around the town centre, and you can park right in the heart of Odder without worrying about traffic jams.
Good to known before you go shopping in Odder
In Denmark, the currency is Danish kroner (DKK). Most places accept credit and debit cards. In some places, Euros are accepted.
Opening hours are usually Monday to Thursday 10:00 to 17:30, Friday 10:00 to 18:00 and Saturday 10:00 to 13:30. Most stay closed on Sundays, with the exception of certain grocery shops and farm shops. Opening hours may vary and we recommend that you check before you go shopping.

Rosensgade
Odder’s pedestrian street, Rosensgade, is the heart of the town’s shopping scene and vibrant atmosphere. Stretching around 500 metres, the street offers a wide variety of shops selling everything from pharmacy products and second-hand treasures to delicacies and fashion. Discover speciality coffee and tea at Blas Kaffe & The, enjoy Romagna-inspired delicacies at Piccolo Convento, or find your next stylish outfit at one of the many fashion boutiques such as Velklædt. Right in the middle of the street, you will also find Biffen Odder cinema, making it easy to combine a shopping trip with a few relaxing hours of popcorn and film.

The squares
Along Rosensgade, you will find two town squares – Torvet and Polititorvet – both offering pleasant spaces to relax, shops, and cafés and restaurants with outdoor seating. The squares are perfect spots to enjoy an ice cream or a cold drink during your visit. Torvet is the town’s central gathering place and has recently been renovated with areas designed for both play and relaxation. Just beyond Polititorvet lies Folkeparken – a green oasis in the town centre with a lovely playground for children.

Kvickly Odder
Kvickly Odder is much more than just a supermarket – it is a local institution and a popular meeting place in the town. Here, you will find a butcher, a bakery, a large wine department, and even an art gallery on the first floor. Kvickly is located right next to Folkeparken, just a few hundred metres from the pedestrian street. Around Kvickly, you will also find several larger grocery stores and well-known chain shops.
Where can I buy gift cards for shopping in Odder?
The local trade association Køb Odder offers a gift card that can be used in more than 50 local shops. The gift card can be purchased in person at Kvickly Odder or at Bog & Idé on the pedestrian street. You can also buy it online via the Køb Odder website, where you will also find a list of participating shops and businesses that accept the gift card.

Free parking in Odder town centre
Rosensgade and Torvet in Odder are reserved for pedestrians, but you can park just a few steps away from the pedestrian street. There are more than 1,000 free parking spaces in Odder town centre, and you will always be able to find a parking space or accessible parking space within a short walking distance.

The highlight of the year is Odder Town Festival, held annually during the week leading up to the first weekend of August. During the festival, the town comes alive with concerts, markets, party tents, and plenty of festive activities.
