Voervadsbro Teltplads
In scenic surroundings on the banks of the Gudenå River, this canoe campsite offers a place to pitch your tent and rest for the night, with surprisingly good facilities for such a simple site.
Camping in your own tent by the Gudenå River
If you are paddling along the southern section of the Gudenå River, this campsite is an ideal place to stop for the night or take a break on your journey. It is a basic site where you bring your own tent, but the facilities are a step above the average. The location is also stunning, right in the heart of an area known for its natural beauty and outdoor experiences.
Facilities
Voervadsbro Campsite has its own launch and landing point for canoes. You camp on the grassy area down by the riverbank. There is a toilet block with access to drinking water, and even a shower available on site. You will also find a covered picnic shelter with room for 20 people, and a vending machine with snacks. There is a campfire area, and you can purchase firewood.
Price and practical information
The cost for an overnight stay is DKK 50. Payment is collected by the campsite manager and can be made in cash or via MobilePay. There is no need to book in advance – simply pitch your tent on arrival. Please allow at least three metres between tents. Dogs are allowed, but must be kept on a lead at all times. Be considerate of other visitors and keep noise to a minimum. Short-term parking is available by the roadside, while long-term parking can be found approximately 500 metres away at Vilholtvej 2. The site is open from 16 June until the end of week 42.
During the summer, the Gudenå Bus (Modstrømsbussen) stops at Voervadsbro Campsite. This bus allows you to walk, cycle or paddle along the Gudenå River and then catch the bus back to your starting point.
The local area
Voervadsbro is a small village with around 200 inhabitants. There is no supermarket, but there is a delicatessen. The farm shop Sdr Vissing Torvehal offers delivery of groceries or fresh breakfast rolls to the campsite if you contact them the day before.
The village is beautifully situated in the Bakkelandet hills. If you feel like stretching your legs, we recommend the scenic walk along the Gudenå Trail towards the viewpoint Sukkertoppen, located three kilometres away.
