Nim Canoe and Shelter Site

This shelter site with three shelters is located on the banks of the Gudenå River and features a landing stage for canoes. The site is open to everyone – whether you are hiking along the Gudenå Trail or paddling by canoe.

Lovely shelter site by the Gudenå River

This scenic nature campsite is located in the southern part of the Gudenå River, not far from the village of Nim. The site features three shelters, each offering views of the river. It is an ideal choice for outdoor enthusiasts travelling along the Gudenå River either on foot or by canoe or kayak. The site is generally quite popular, so it is recommended to book in advance.

Facilities

There is no car park at the shelter site, as it is intended for outdoor tourists. However, access is possible both from the Gudenå Trail and via a landing stage from the river side. The jetty also doubles as a relaxing spot – feel free to sit here with your feet in the water.

Each of the three shelters accommodates up to seven people and includes its own table and bench set. There is a composting toilet and a water tap, which is available during the summer season.

Dogs are welcome at the site, but they must be kept on a lead.

Booking

The shelter site can be booked via Horsens Municipality’s Leisure Portal. Please note that bookings are made per person per sleeping space. If several of you are staying together, you will need to make multiple bookings.

To book a place in one of the shelters, you must register as a user on the portal.

Overnight stays cost DKK 50 per person per night. Payment is made upon arrival via MobilePay to #35252.

Experiences nearby

The shelter site is located approximately 2 kilometres from the village of Nim, where there is a grocery store for stocking up on supplies. Around 500 metres away in a straight line you will also find Gudenå Camping, which has a café, mini-golf and canoe rental. Other nearby attractions include the Vestbirk Lakes, Slaggård Banke, Sandvad Inn and The Uncovered Bridge.
