The adventure starts in Tørring
Close to the source of the Gudenå river and Uldum Marsh is Tørring – the perfect starting point or somewhere to take a break for your adventure out in the countryside.
The town is characterised by a true village community, of which you as a guest become a natural part. Join the communal dining, visit lovely Tørring Camping, get an old-fashioned ice cream at the ice cream parlour and hop in a canoe on the Gudenå river with the assistance of always helpful Tørring Canoe Hire.
In a canoe on the Gudenå river?
The whole family gets closer together - literally - in a canoe. Therefore, it is a unique way to be together as a family when the slim boat is pushed out from the shore and glides off down the Gudenå river.
The Gudenå’s southern stretch is breath-taking with narrow, winding stretches and no major lakes.
The trip starts in Tørring and goes through Uldum Marsh, a protected marshland with rich nature.
You get close to The uncovered Bridge, the beautiful old Vestbirk Hydroelectric Plant, and end at the cosy Monastery Mill overlooking Mos Lake at the foot of The Sugar Loaf – one of the Coastal Land’s hidden treasures.
The whole trip is 40 km long and can be completed in 2-3 days at a steady pace.
