You can easily enjoy a holiday in Kystlandet, even without your own car. Getting around is quite simple here - whether you prefer buses, trains, cars, or bicycles.

Kystlandet is covered by a network of regional buses, making it easy to travel between the area’s towns, villages, and natural attractions. You can plan your trip and check schedules and prices on Rejseplanen.dk. The buses operate according to a fixed timetable. Payment options include cash, or the national Rejsebillet app.

If there is no bus connection between two areas in the destination, you can book a flex tour at standard bus fare. You will be picked up by a minibus or taxi. Flex tours can be taken at a low cost from designated transport hubs, known as knudepunkter. Most towns and villages in the area have one. In the Journey Planner (Rejseplanen), you can search for a place name combined with ‘knudepunkt’ to find the relevant hub (for example, ‘Snaptun knudepunkt’). You choose the departure time yourself. Flex tours must be booked at least one hour in advance. It may sound complicated, but it is actually quite simple and comfortable.

Horsens has a city bus network with 14 routes, allowing you to travel anywhere within the city. Similarly, Odder has 2 city bus routes connecting different parts of the town. As with regional buses and flex rides, tickets can be purchased with cash, through the Rejsebillet app, the Midttrafik ticket app, or by using a Rejsekort travel card.

It is, of course, also possible to get around the area by taxi. Generally, the larger the town, the shorter the waiting time, and it is usually recommended to book in advance. In Horsens, the waiting time is often no more than 10 minutes, and in several places in the city, you can hop into a taxi without a prior booking—such as at the train station.

There are train stations with connections in central Horsens, Hedensted, and Odder. From here, it’s easy to access the attractions of each town. From Horsens, you can take direct trains to the largest cities in Denmark, while regional trains depart from Hedensted, and from Odder, the light rail (Letbanen) connects to Aarhus. In both Horsens and Odder, the bus traffic is centered next to the train stations, making it easy to transfer from bus to train.

The area's ferries make it possible to explore the islands of the East Jutland Archipelago. The ferry ports are located in Snaptun and Hou. Both ferry terminals are accessible by public transport (regional buses and flex rides), and departure times are coordinated so you won't have to wait long for your ferry.

Kystlandet has a great infrastructure for cyclists, with many bike paths and signposted routes. In Horsens, you can borrow a city bike, while in several other towns in Kystlandet, it’s possible to rent various types of bikes for your outing.

While there can be congestion on the road network in Kystlandet during rush hour on weekdays, most of the time it is easy to get around. The infrastructure is excellent, especially around the highway E45, which runs through the area.
