Stensballe Forest and "Mountains"
The area around the district of Stensballe in the eastern part of Horsens is rich in natural experiences. Between the Husodde Beach and the village of Haldrup, there is a larger, hilly forest area along the coast with beautiful trails and opportunities for outdoor activities.

Sondrup Hills
Experience the unusually scenic and varied landscape at Sondrup Plantation on the north side of Horsens Fjord. The hilly and wooded terrain invites to walks in the deep, peaceful nature.

Borre Knob
One of the local area’s loveliest nature experiences is found at the narrow peninsula Borre Knob, which stretches a long way into Horsens Fjord. If you are looking for a great suggestion for a short round trip at the coast, then Borre Knob might be the place for you.

Boller Castle Park and Flower Garden
A visit to Boller Castle Park offers beautiful scenery and outdoor adventures beneath the open sky. Here, you can feel the whispers of history and encounter one of Denmark’s oldest trees – the approximately 1,000-year-old hollow oak, known as the Boller Oak.

Boller Forest
This forest by the southern coast of Horsens Fjord is one of the most popular nature destinations in the Horsens area. Here you can frolic by the sea, take a walk in the beautiful, old manor forest and the impressive park by Boller Castle, that was once inhabited by the families of Rosenkrantz and Gyldenstierne - made famous by William Shakespeare’s play Hamlet. The trip to Boller from Horsens is an experience by itself.

The Planet Path (Planetstien)
Hop on your bike or enjoy a walk along the Planet Path in the scenic landscape by Horsens Fjord. Experience the solar system unfold over the 3 kilometres from Høegh Guldbergs Gade to Boller Nederskov.

Klokkedal
There are only few places in Denmark where you can feel as embraced by nature as in Klokkedal near Horsens. This elongated forest has a beautiful path following a stream at the bottom of a valley with nature towering up on both sides. The area is perfect for short hikes and excursions.

In the idyllic village of Haldrup you find this Japanese-inspired open garden with streams, lakes, cosy seating areas and a vast number of topiaries. Enjoy the sight of the tame Koi carps and visit the gallery where the colourful paintings of the owner are exhibited.

Bjerre Forest
In a beautiful natural resorts between Horsens and Juelsminde, you find this large forest which invites to a wealth of activities. Whether you want to take a walk in unkempt nature, go nuts on your mountain bike or swing your fishing rod in the deep, quiet tranquillity of the forest, it is all possible here.
Signposted Circular Walks in Nature
The Fjordmino trail goes all the way around Horsens Fjord and through many of the natural areas mentioned above. Along the Fjordmino, there are several short circular walks marked with yellow arrows. These walks start from specific natural spots.
You can find signposted circular walks with yellow arrows in places like Sondrup Bakker, Trustrup Udsigtshøje, Boller Skov, Klokkedal, Hjarnø, Borre Knob, Stensballe Bjerge, the Sondrup-Torup Church Path, Amstrup Enge, Aalstrup, and Bisholt.
