Beautifully located in the bay of As Vig, you find this nice beach with its fine sand. At the large area of holiday homes, you can stock up and you can park in the large parking lot right on the water’s edge.
The several-kilometre-long sandy beach at As Vig winds almost all the way along the large bay area between Snaptun and As Hoved. From the beach, you have excellent views of the whole bay and can also look across to the islands of Endelave and Samsø. The As Vig beach is a good alternative to Storstranden in Juelsminde, as it is less crowded. The beach is not a Blue Flag Beach but has nice facilities such as toilets, information board, a jetty, tables/benches and the possibility of parking right on the water’s edge. Here, you find a wide blanket of fine white sand and shallow clean water.
The As Vig area has a large number of holiday homes. Almost all the way along the bay, there are holiday homes located right next to the beach - from Pøt Strandby in the north to Kirkholm in the south.
Next to Gludvej, the main road between Snaptun and Juelsminde, you find a grocery store and a fast-food restaurant, so it is possible to enjoy a meal or some cold refreshments when visiting.
The popular hiking route, the Coastal Track Snaptun-Juelsminde, takes you along As Vig Beach all the way from Pøt Strandby and towards As Hoved in the south. Due to its picturesque location, the beach is generally good for hiking in nice weather.
The East Jutland cycling route Kulturringen also passes As Vig on its way to Snaptun and Hjarnø.
The Juelsminde peninsula has more beautiful beaches with good facilities. Let yourself be inspired to your next day on the beach here.
