The calm waters of the East Jutland coast are perfect for sea kayaking, and the beautiful landscape along the Gudenå River can also be experienced from kayak.

Kayak rental and kayaking courses

The first time you go kayaking, it is a good idea to have an experienced guide with you so you can learn the basic techniques and ensure safety. Outdoor Connection regularly organizes kayaking courses in the calm waters at Langelinie and Husodde Beach in Horsens.

Kayaking on the Gudenå River

The Gudenå River is not just for canoes. You can kayak on Denmark's only river, but remember that you need a sailing permit for the stretch between Tørring and Klostermølle (the southernmost part of the Gudenå). Sailing is permitted from June 16th to December 31st. You can order your guest permit at this link. You can order your guest permit on this link

At Tørring Canoe Rental you can hire a kayak for the trip. Then you only have to think about showing up - they take care of the permit.

Kayak routes in Kystlandet

Take a trip around one of Kystlandet’s three fjords, take the trip around one of the islands of the East Jutland Archipelago or enjoy navigating the beautiful Gudenå river in a kayak. There’s a wide range of options. Either way, you have excellent conditions and calm water. On the map below you can see our suggestions for your next trip.
