Three days of adventure, community and outdoor living in beautiful natural surroundings

Whether you dream of sleeping in a hammock, heading out on a kayaking adventure, cooking over an open fire, exploring bushcraft or simply enjoying a weekend in great company, you will find plenty of inspiration and memorable experiences at Friluftsfestival.

The festival brings together outdoor enthusiasts, retailers, associations and adventurers from Denmark and abroad. Discover inspiring exhibitors, try the latest outdoor gear, pick up expert advice and meet people who share your passion for nature.

Free admission

Admission to Friluftsfestival and all activities on the festival site is free of charge. If you would like to experience the unique atmosphere throughout the weekend, you can purchase an overnight camping ticket at www.friluftsfestival.dk.

Meet inspiring exhibitors

Explore a wide range of exhibitors across the festival site. Meet the approximately 30 hammock enthusiasts from Dutch Hammock Store, who will demonstrate different hammock setups and share their expertise. You can also visit the Swedish bushcraft specialists at Craft by Karlsson, where Tobbe Karlsson – one of Sweden's leading bushcraft experts – will demonstrate traditional techniques and share stories about life in the wild.

You can also meet well-known outdoor retailers and brands including Outdoor45, Design Kayaks, Spejder Sport and many more.

Enjoy inspiring talks

The festival's lecture stage, set in the cosy campfire shelter, provides the setting for a series of fascinating talks by some of Denmark's most experienced adventurers and outdoor experts.

Highlights include:

Rasmus Kragh – Alone in the Wilderness. The mountaineer and polar explorer shares his latest adventures and his experiences from this year's season.
Niels Ulrik Drescher – Alone in the Wilderness. The outdoor expert reflects on his experiences from this year's season.
Andreas Hjort – The Sirius Patrol. Stories and adventures from the Greenland Ice Sheet.
Nedda and Gordon Madsen – Wildlife and rooftop tents. Nature photography, travel and outdoor adventures filled with good humour.
Christian Rein – Bikepacking. Inspiration for adventures on two wheels.
Susanne Jars – Kayaking adventures in Greenland. Stories from one of Denmark's most inspiring sea kayakers.
Peter Nymann Eriksen – Free the Gudenå River. The vision of restoring Denmark's longest river to a free-flowing, wild state.
Thomas Boesdal – Wolves in Denmark. Wolf howls and fascinating tales from the wild landscapes of western Jutland.
Lone Hayden and Frey Freya – Micro camper adventures. Big adventures in compact spaces.

Join in

Friluftsfestival is about much more than talks – you can also take part in a wide variety of hands-on activities.

Throughout the weekend you can:

Learn bushcraft skills and brew traditional campfire coffee with Craft by Karlsson.
Join canoe activities on the lake with Outdoor Connection.
Relax in the sauna from Mobile Sauna Aarhus (remember to bring a towel).
Join a birdwatching walk with Jens Muff from the Danish Ornithological Society on Saturday at 10.00.
Sing around the campfire on Friday at 20.00, with live music from Morten Ebert.

Nature Day – Sunday 10.00–14.00

On Sunday, the festival forms part of Nature Day, where Betina Brender from Hedensted Municipality invites the whole family to enjoy a day outdoors.

Take a canoe trip, discover the fascinating wildlife in the pond and enjoy fun nature-based activities for both children and adults. At 12.00, the barbecue will be fired up, giving everyone the chance to gather for a relaxed outdoor lunch.

Food and drink

When you are ready for a bite to eat, visit the festival's food stalls:

GetOutdoor – venison burgers and homemade chips.
Vrads Destilleri – grilled sausages and gin.
Kaffekanden – coffee and sweet treats.
Holmely – freshly made tortillas.
HeroCamper – Hancock bar serving cold drinks.
