Every year, more than 100,000 guests make their way past The Uncovered Bridge, which stands in a scenic area northwest of Horsens.
The Uncovered Bridge was built in 1899 as part of the railway between Horsens and Bryrup, and at its inauguration it was the tallest bridge in Scandinavia. As the carriages grew larger and wider, trains had to find other roads and the bridge was covered over for 85 years until it was dug out and restored in 2014.
Today, the bridge stands as a symbol of beautiful industrial engineering that you can cycle and walk on or enjoy the view from.

The Uncovered Bridge Run (Den Genfundne Bro Løbet)
Come along for the cosiest running event of the year. At this well-visited run in Brædstrup and around one of Denmark’s biggest nature attractions, you can run or walk a mile and receive a specially designed running shirt and medal as a souvenir. Here, exercise is combined with beautiful nature and good facilities.

Bowling alley and activity centre at Hotel Pejsegården

The Monastery Mill (Klostermølle)
This lovely attraction combines beautiful nature with exciting cultural history. The former Benedictine monastery and paper factory is now a popular excursion point well suited as a picnic spot. Yding Skovhøj – Denmark’s highest point
You will find many of the biggest hills of Denmark in the beautiful, hilly and forested area between Horsens and Silkeborg. The highest of them all are found in Ejer Mountains (Bjerge). Here, you can climb to the top of Denmark’s summit at an altitude of 172,54 metres ASL and enjoy an amazing view surrounded by lovely nature and historic burial mounds.

Brædstrup Folkepark
Located in the very centre of Brædstrup, but still in immediate continuation of nature, this lovely, renovated city park is a popular haven for local citizens and tourists. The park offers options for many different types of activities.

Ring Lake
On the outskirts of Brædstrup, you will find this inviting bathing lake with a sandy beach and a bathing jetty. The area offers pleasant facilities around the beach, and a three-kilometre footpath encircles the lake, which makes for a scenic walk or hike.

The local ceramicist Karin Morsbøl has her workshop in the beautiful nature of the Danish Lakelands. Here, you can attend courses for beginners as well as for more experienced potters. Stop by her exhibition where you also have the chance to buy one of her impressive works of art.

Slaggård Banke
This nature area northwest of Horsens is quite unique due to the many burial mounds in the area. Goat tracks take you around the area which is very close to well-known attractions such as The Uncovered Bridge.

Queen Tove's rune stone
Step into the Viking era, where Christianity took hold and powerful figures left their mark. This rune stone at Sdr. Vissing Church was erected by Harald Bluetooth's wife and serves as a testament to the king's presence in Bakkelandet around the time Denmark embraced Christianity.
