Shortly upon arrival you will sense the unique island atmosphere on Tunø. The island is car-free, but there are tractors and bicycles with imaginative trailers for transportation. The harbour is bustling with life when the ferry berths, but shortly after there is peace and quiet everywhere. More than 90 % of the island is preserved. The rare black guillemot breeds on the island and the European green toad has its northernmost habitat on Tunø.
Cycling Experience on Tunø will lead you alongside the water and through beautiful forests. In some places you have to pull the bike, due to the narrow paths, but otherwise there are many good roads to ride on. On the way you will pass the island's church and church tower, which is also a lighthouse. Tunø has a grocery shop and several dining opportunities. The route is 11 kilometres long.
