The Heart Path in Brædstrup

This waymarked hiking route takes you through the cosy commercial town of Brædstrup and its surrounding nature areas. You can combine the 5,7-kilometre-long route with lunch, shopping, a break at the playground or a dive at the beach.

Explore Brædstrup on foot

Brædstrup will surprise you. The town offers interesting shopping options, green oasis, snug corners, lovely nature, activities, and even a sandy beach. Experience a bit of everything on this 5.7-kilometre round trip. The route does not lead through the high street, the park, the forest or down to the lake, but it passes close by it all. You can easily add whatever interests you to the route.

Make the route a little longer – add a loop

The Brædstrup area has amazing nature, which is also reflected in the route. In Folkeparken you can visit a lovely, newly renovated, recreational area. The park is ideal for a picnic, and children can have fun with the playground equipment. In connection to Folkeparken is Ring Forest which has several forest paths that take you around the area. In the southwestern outskirts of the town is Ring Lake. There is a path that leads all the way around the lake. You will also find a beach with a bathing jetty here at the lake.

At the Coastal Land digital map you can see and follow loops around Ring Forest and Ring Lake – both in direct connection to the heart-path.

After the hike

Finish the hike by walking through the high street of Brædstrup (Søndergade/Bredgade) where you can visit many local shops. Settle down at the railway square (Banetorvet) and enjoy a cup of coffee or a meal at Restaurant The Old Post Office (Det Gamle Posthus). Alternatively you can end the day at Restaurant Dillen at Hotel Pejsegården where there is also a bowling alley.

What is a heart-path?

Heart-paths are waymarked hiking routes that make it easy for you to get exercise on a workday. The routes are typically located in the cities where people live. They are scattered around all of Denmark. The closest heart-paths can be found in Tørring, Horsens, Nørre Snede, and Silkeborg.

The Nature Path

A part of the heart-path in Brædstrup follows the Nature Path Horsens-Silkeborg, which is a tarmacked railway path connecting the cities of Horsens and Silkeborg. You might want to consider going for a walk on the Nature Path – for example to The Uncovered Bridge located only a few kilometres away.
