About Svanegrund Nature Park
Svanegrund Nature Park is Denmark's largest nature park, covering approximately 84,000 hectares of sea and coastal landscapes across the East Jutland Archipelago and Horsens Fjord. The park stretches along the coastline between Odder, Horsens, Hedensted and Samsø, and includes the islands of Hjarnø, Alrø, Endelave, Samsø and Tunø. The area is renowned for its shallow coastal waters, rich wildlife and exceptional natural values.
The nature park works to protect and restore the marine environment through initiatives such as establishing stone reefs, planting eelgrass and carrying out other projects that enhance biodiversity. At the same time, the park creates new opportunities for nature experiences, outdoor recreation and environmental education, allowing both residents and visitors to discover life in and around the sea while respecting nature and its fragile ecosystems.
