Transport around Kystlandet
You can easily enjoy a holiday in Kystlandet, even without your own car. Getting around is quite simple here - whether you prefer buses, trains, cars, or bicycles.

Regional buses
Kystlandet is covered by a network of regional buses, making it easy to travel between the area's towns, villages and natural attractions. On Rejseplanen.dk, you can plan your journey, check departure times and find ticket prices. Buses run according to a fixed timetable. You can pay with cash in the bus, a Basiscard, the Rejsekort app or the national Rejsebillet app.

Flex tours
If there is no bus connection between two places in Kystlandet, you can book a Flextur, a flexible transport service where you will be picked up by minibus or taxi. Flextur journeys are available at affordable rates from designated transport hubs, known as knudepunkter. You will find these hubs in most towns and villages throughout the area. On Rejseplanen, simply search for the name of your destination followed by 'knudepunkt' to find the nearest hub (for example, 'Snaptun knudepunkt').
You can choose your own departure time. Flextur journeys must be booked at least one hour before departure, or the day before if you wish to travel between 6 am and 8 am. You will need to create an account when booking for the first time. The fare depends on the distance travelled and is displayed when you make your booking.
It might sound a little complicated, but it is actually a surprisingly easy and comfortable way to get around!

City Buses
Horsens has a network of 13 local bus routes, making it easy to get around the town. Odder also has two local bus routes connecting different parts of the town. As with regional buses, you can pay for your ticket with cash, through the Rejsebillet app, using a Basiscard or via the Rejsekort app.

Taxis
It is, of course, also possible to get around the area by taxi. Generally, the larger the town, the shorter the waiting time, and it is usually recommended to book in advance. In Horsens, the waiting time is often no more than 10 minutes, and in several places in the city, you can hop into a taxi without a prior booking—such as at the train station.

Train stations and bus stations
There are train stations with connections in central Horsens, Hedensted, and Odder. From here, it’s easy to access the attractions of each town. From Horsens, you can take direct trains to the largest cities in Denmark, while regional trains depart from Hedensted, and from Odder, the light rail (Letbanen) connects to Aarhus. In both Horsens and Odder, the bus traffic is centered next to the train stations, making it easy to transfer from bus to train.

Ferries
The area's ferries make it possible to explore the islands of the East Jutland Archipelago. The ferry ports are located in Snaptun and Hou. Both ferry terminals are accessible by public transport (regional buses and flex rides), and departure times are coordinated so you won't have to wait long for your ferry.

Getting around on two wheels
Kystlandet has a great infrastructure for cyclists, with many bike paths and signposted routes. In Horsens, you can borrow a city bike, while in several other towns in Kystlandet, it’s possible to rent various types of bikes for your outing.

In your own car
While there can be congestion on the road network in Kystlandet during rush hour on weekdays, most of the time it is easy to get around. The infrastructure is excellent, especially around the highway E45, which runs through the area.
