Folkeparken's plyground
At the town hall in Odder, the city's new splendid public park is being constructed. However, some parts of the park are already completed and ready for use. This notably includes Odder's finest playground, where kids can spend a long time playing with the magnificent locally-inspired play equipment.
The new playground at The Odder Coast
The Folkeparken is a new park located centrally in Odder, slated to be completed in 2024. However, even now, you (and the kids) can already enjoy the park's playground, which is quite special and unique. The playground pays tribute to the local area's cultural history and the significant role that agriculture has played in the city's development.
Perhaps the most striking feature is the large windmill, serving as a play tower with a big slide. From the windmill, you can transport flour (sand) to the local bakery, designed as a charming playhouse. Additionally, there's a fish market where children can play at being fishmongers, referencing Odderkysten's fishing heritage.
The playground also includes a swing set, hammocks, and balance equipment.
About Folkeparken
Folkeparken is a new city park being established around Odder Town Hall. It is situated in the area between Rådhusgade, Aabygade, and Nørregade. The park is still under development and is expected to be officially inaugurated in May 2024. However, the playground has already been inaugurated, and most of the pathways leading to it are in place. Access to the playground is currently available from Aabygade and Polititorvet.
Once Folkeparken is completed, it will feature a multi-sports court, an outdoor kitchen, and a large picnic area. It will become a green oasis for the city's residents, as well as visitors from the surrounding areas, just a few meters away from the pedestrian street's shops.
