Fodboldgolf FÆNGSLET
In the Prison Park in Horsens, you can enjoy a fun and engaging activity with friends or family. This is the site of a scenic 18-hole footgolf course, offering entertaining challenges for all skill levels.
Footgolf in unique surroundings
Set in lush green surroundings, yet with views of barbed wire and prison walls, this is a standout activity in Horsens. During the spring and summer months, you can play a round on the 18-hole course and test your skills with the leather ball. The course is located on the grassy west side of FÆNGSLET and features a range of obstacles designed to challenge both precision and technique. Boards, ramps and barriers mean that it’s rarely just about kicking far and straight.
The distinctive setting is integrated into the experience, and along the course, you’ll come across interesting facts about the history of the former prison. The course is also located along the 1,000-metre path that circles the entire prison complex. Inspired by this route, the designers have created a course that requires approximately 1,000 metres of walking.
About footgolf
Footgolf follows the same rules as mini golf – but with a football instead of a golf ball and club. The course is longer than a typical mini golf course but much shorter than a traditional golf course. Many mini golf-style challenges are used in footgolf, making accuracy more important than sheer kicking power. As with mini golf, each hole has a maximum of 10 shots, and you carry a scorecard with you around the course.
Trainers are recommended for play. Please note that football boots are not permitted.
The ball house
When you arrive at the footgolf course, head to the ball house. Here you’ll find 65 balls, each representing a football legend. Among them are international superstars, Danish football icons, and heroes from the local team, AC Horsens. Who will you represent on the course?
Inside the ball house, you’ll also find instructions, rules, and practical information.
Opening hours and prices
Footgolf FÆNGSLET is self-service and open every day from 10 a.m. until dusk. The season runs from 1 April to 30 September. During major concerts, events or festivals in the Prison Park, the footgolf course will not be accessible. Check FÆNGSLET’s calendar in advance to plan your visit.
Current prices can be found on the Footgolf FÆNGSLET website.
A cultural institution and experience hub
The former Horsens State Prison is now a multifaceted visitor destination. Most famous is the largest prison museum in Europe, but the site also features a café, accommodation, escape rooms, a park, a playground, and a packed calendar of events throughout the year.
Why not combine a round of footgolf with one of FÆNGSLET’s many other exciting experiences?
