Where to on your cycling holiday? In Kystlandet along the eastern coastline of the peninsula of Jutland in Denmark, you find beautiful cities, cultural history, and varied landscapes. Follow this signposted route and get a real feel of the coast and all its adventures.

From fjord to fjord... to fjord

The stretch of coast in Kystlandet offers the perfect terrains for a cycling holiday. Around Horsens Fjord and Vejle Fjord you find peaceful and varied landscapes with beautiful nature sites, lots of forests and breathtaking views. Between the fjords, a flat rural coast landscape facing the Kattegat Sea greets you and invites you to enjoy the beaches or a cold ice cream in the sun.

The beautiful city of Vejle and the exciting culture city of Horsens offers a varied selection of things to see and experience. We also recommend you to visit the charming habour towns of Juelsminde, Hou, Snaptun, Rosenvold og Norsminde

Take this trip from Vejle Fjord to Horsens Fjord and further up to Norsminde Fjord – the perfect way to spend an active holiday along the coast line with your best biking buddies!

Follow the blue sign posts

This stretch is a part of The Danish national cycle route 5 (East Coast Route) that takes you all the way from the city of Sønderborg in the South to Skagen in the North. Follow the blue sign posts marked with a red number 5 and get safely to your destination.

The stretch between Vejle and Norsminde is 129 kilometres.

Through the lands of the manour houses

Scattered along the landscapes of the coastal line you find a large number of historical manor hourses, beckoned by the fertile lands of the area.

As a cyclist, this brings you through several forests of manor houses and idyllic villages along the route. You will pass no less than 12 former manor manor houses. Make a stop and visit the beautiful parks at for example Boller Slot and Palsgaard.

Take a quick dip

Along the coast line of Kystlandet you will find several child-friendly bathing beaches. You will pass by 30 beaches on this trip - so why not cool off in the calm waters?

129 kilometres - not enough?

Continue along the The Danish national cycle route 5 (East Coast Route) to either Aarhus or Fredericia and get even more kilometres and experiences under your belt.

Another option is to spice up your trip with a visit to one or more of the islands of Kystlandet. You will pass by the ferry stops in Snaptun or Hou on the route - from here you can jump on the ferry to Endelave, Tunø, Samsø or Hjarnø and cruise The East Jutland archipelago.
