The Planet Path (Planetstien)

Hop on your bike or enjoy a walk along the Planet Path in the scenic landscape by Horsens Fjord. Experience the solar system unfold over the 3 kilometres from Høegh Guldbergs Gade to Boller Nederskov.

A walk through the solar system

Get an exciting insight into the immense distances of the solar system, beautifully illustrated along the route to Boller Forest on a scale of 1:1498 million. The Planet Path begins at Høegh Guldbergs Gade, where the Sun is represented by a large gold-plated iron sphere mounted on a 2.8-metre-high stand. From there, you can follow the fjord-side path past all eight planets, from Mercury to Neptune, each depicted on large natural stones with information about every planet. You will also find information boards at both the start and end of the trail.

Great nature experiences near the centre

Not far from the centre of Horsens, the route begins and follows the southern shore of Horsens Fjord to Boller Nederskov. At the end of the trail, beautiful nature and cultural history await.

At the trail’s end, you can turn left onto Boller Pier, where you will be rewarded with stunning views across Horsens Fjord and towards the town itself. Alternatively, continue your walk through the old manor forest, Boller Nederskov, to the charming Boller Castle. Here you will discover a lovely castle park featuring a flower garden, an Asian-inspired garden with turtles, and a 1,000-year-old oak tree.

Near Boller Nederskov, several other impressive forests invite further hiking. For instance, you can extend your walk into the ancient meltwater valley Klokkedal, located just a few hundred metres from Boller Nederskov.
