Egmont Movement Park
In the ferry town of Hou, you will find Egmont Movement Park, a public activity park designed according to the principles of universal design. Developed with accessibility at its core, the park provides a welcoming setting for socialising, play and physical activity for everyone. There is plenty of space for sports, games and parasports, as well as walks, nature experiences and cultural events.

An activity park with equal access for everyone
At Egmont Movement Park, the ambition is for everyone to be able to take part. That means accessibility and a wide range of needs have been considered from the very beginning. The park has been developed according to the principles of universal design, allowing people of all abilities, ages and backgrounds to move around, stay active and participate on equal terms. It is a park for the whole family – from grandparents and wheelchair users to children and adults without specific accessibility needs.
Movement park facilities
Egmont Movement Park is located next to Egmont Folk High School and Vandhalla, its fully accessible swimming centre. To find the park, simply head towards the entrance to Vandhalla. From the car park, a wheelchair-friendly path provides easy access to the different areas of the park.
The areas are colour-coded, inspired by the difficulty levels of ski slopes: green for gentle activities, blue for a little more of a challenge, red for more energetic activities and black for those looking to really test themselves. Along the paths, you will also discover a series of sculptures.
The park features a wide range of facilities, including a viewing spiral, a pump track, multi-use sports courts, a sledging hill, a sky mirror, outdoor fitness equipment and an urban activity zone suitable for everything from roller skating and scooters to mountain bikes and wheelchairs.
When it is time to unwind, you can relax in the pavilion, the quiet retreat, the glade, the open lawn, the hill or the courtyard.
The pavilion also includes a fully accessible toilet.
Combine your visit with a swim
Right next to Egmont Movement Park is Vandhalla, Denmark's most accessible swimming centre. Among its facilities is a 90-metre waterslide with lift access, as well as excellent amenities for both families with children and fitness swimmers.
From the park, a paved path also leads to the beach via Hou Søsportcenter. Here you will find a 170-metre bathing jetty. From the beach, The Hou Coastal Trail continues along an accessible surface all the way to Hou Marina.
