Vejle Fjord

The north side of Vejle Fjord is characterised by a dramatic coastline. Here you can experience beach, forest, fossils, castle ruins and a photogenic lighthouse.

On the north side of Vejle Fjord you will be blown away by the impressive views. From Staksrode Forest’s characteristic high slopes you can see all the way to Æbelø and Funen!

It’s just as fascinating if you look the other way, into the wild and untamed natural forest.

But don’t worry, there are marked hiking routes of between 2.5 and 5 km, so you can safely venture into the wilderness and go in search of the pirate castle ruin Stagsevold.

Staksrode Forest

Near Juelsminde and along Vejle Fjord you will find one of Denmark’s most beautiful forests. In the hilly nature forest, you will find East Jutland's most dramatic coastline with high slopes down towards Stenhoej Beach. Here there are beautiful views from the exciting hiking routes, historical attractions, and good opportunities for spotting wild animals.

Træskohage Lighthouse

On the northern side of Vejle Fjord you will find, Træskohage Lighthouse, which is a beautiful and recognizable landmark for the area around Stouby and Hotel Vejlefjord. The birdwatching tower and lighthouse has a wonderful view over the fjord, which makes this a popular excursion spot.

At the beautiful Hotel Vejlefjord you will find these historic hiking routes in impressive nature. Go for a walk in hilly landscape through the beautiful park, the deep forest and along Vejle Fjord with lots of little curiosities en route.

Do you want to go bathing in the beautiful nature at Vejle Fjord? This Blue Flag beach near Daugård is ideal with its fine bathing water, a wide sandy beach, and good facilities. The beach offers a tremendous view of Vejle Fjord.

Stagsevold

These castle ruins, surrounded history and legend, can be found in the beautiful Staksrode Forest. Cross the moat on the little wooden bridge to see this facility dating back to the 14th Century. According to legend, it used to be a pirate hangout.

Rosenvold Beach

Rosenvold is a small oasis on the coast of Vejle Fjord consisting of a campsite, a castle, a marina, and a fine bathing beach. The beach has excellent facilities and is perfectly suited for sunbathing and swimming in the clean, calm water.

Inshore fishing on the north coast of Vejle Fjord

Vejle Fjord is the fjord in Denmark with the highest concentration of sea trout and fjord trout. Along the stunning, forest-covered northern coast, there are several interesting fishing spots where the chance of catching the big fish is particularly high.
