Stenhøj Beach

Stenhøj beach is located on one of the most dramatic coastlines in eastern Jutland. Along the slope, the many stairs twists down towards the beach, which is characterized by its steep slopes and deep ravines, due to the clay, which can soak up so much water during heavy rain, that it suddenly can slip down towards the beach and tilts giant trees on the way.

Walk along the 3 kilometers long beach, but be prepared for obstacles like large tree trunks in your way, that ensures a natural coastal protection. Look for fossils, that wash up on the beach or playful porpoises that sometimes swim along the beach here. In the summer, the beach has a small bathing jetty and for the angler, this is an extremely popular place, with chances of catching garfish, seatrout and cod.
