A good family-oriented campsite typically has at least one playground and plenty of activities nearby, where children can stay busy and perhaps even meet new playmates.

Treat the kids or grandchildren

Unlike everyday life, camping time and freedom are in abundance.

Here you and the kids are forced to go down a gear, and you will discover the freedom to do things and let things take the time they take.

Camping is a safe environment for children to explore the lovely and child-friendly campsites you will find everywhere in the Coastal Land - whether you choose to stay coastal, near the town, on the islands or at the Gudenå river or one of the fjords.

Take the kids or grandchildren on adventures at one of the Coastal Land’s many campsites and with lots of child-friendly experiences right on the doorstep.

1. Campsite = playground

Camping means both time and space for lots of play. All campsites have beautiful playgrounds, and many fun children’s activities are organised during the season. It can be anything from creative hobby workshops, face painting, festive disco parties, community games and much more.

And when you go on a trip outside the site, you can try your hand at other fun playgrounds in the Coastal Land's fun playgrounds.

2. Lots of water fun

In the Coastal Land you are never far from the water, and you will find some of Denmark’s most child-friendly beaches with calm and shallow water. There is room for hours of fun in the water and good facilities just within easy reach.

At Saksild StrandcampingGudenå CampingElite Camp Vestbirk and Horsens City Camping you can also dive into one of the lovely pools - at Horsens City Camping it is even covered!

3. At least one ice cream a day

Holiday time is ice cream time.

In summer, you may need to cool down, and always remember to top up with new energy after hours of outdoor play and full speed across the field.

4. If it rains...

Although camping means plenty of outdoor life, rain doesn’t have to be restricting. Play a card game and enjoy the cosiness of the awning or go on an excursion to one of the Coastal Land’s many indoor experiences. We have compiled the best tips for you here.

5. Book well in advance

Camping is a very popular form of holiday for both Danish and foreign guests. Therefore, sites can get booked up. So, if you want to be sure of a good location, we recommend that you book well in advance.

You can always contact the sites and enquire about the specific options.
