Cycle route: Pedals and family fun on the East Coast

If you have to choose just one thing to experience in Odder, it is the many bicycle paths and fantastically beautiful cycling routes! We recommend a trip from Odder towards Hou, on to Saksild and then back to Odder - depending on where you begin!

Hop on the iron horse with the whole family and head for the cosy harbour town of Hou

Start the trip from Odder. Depending on the starting point and the detours along the way, the Odder-Hou-Saksild Beach-Odder trip is about 30 km. in total.

On the way from Odder, we recommend taking a small detour past Fru Møllers Mølleri to buy sandwiches for the trip. Turn off before you make it all the way to Hou and have lunch at Bjørnkær, Odder's old castle ruin.

Afternoon coffee at the harbour in Hou

Then continue to Hou Harbour, where Mosters Ishus offers delicious ice cream, light meals and freshly brewed coffee for you to enjoy while the kids catch crabsMosters Ishus has equipment you can borrow for free, so you don’t have to pack the whole house for the trip.

After your afternoon coffee, the trip can either go straight home or continue by turning in at Spøttrup and riding along Hølkenvej towards Saksild. A beautiful bicycle ride awaits you here with fields on both sides.

Set course for Saksild

After your afternoon coffee, the trip can either go straight home or continue by turning in at Spøttrup and riding along Hølkenvej towards Saksild. A beautiful bicycle ride awaits you here with fields on both sides.

And at Saksild, we recommend relaxing on the beach, a refreshing dip and dinner at one of the area’s places to eat before the trip – and the tired bicycle legs – head home again

If you get tired along the way ...

... you can always check in at one of the area’s campsites along the coast and spilt the trip up in stages.
